Los Angeles Lakers at Seattle SuperSonics
The Lakers, who have seen the "under" go 11-9 the last 20 times they played the second of back to back games, had an over/under line of 209 when they played here last month. Despite the fact that the Sonics are playing better defensively now than they were then, tonight's number is almost a touchdown higher. I believe this gives us solid value with the "under."
The Sonics come off back to back games against Portland, holding the Blazers to 92 points in the first game and just 87 here at Seattle in the second. Both those games stayed below the number, bringing the "under" to a profitable 9-3 their last 12 games. The Sonics have also seen the "under" go 6-3 this season when listed as home underdogs in the +6.5 to +9 range. Additionally, they've seen the "under" go 11-3 in games which had an over/under line of 210 or greater, including a perfect 6-0 here at Seattle. Look for tonight's final score to be lower-scoring than expected once again with the "under" improving to 16-3 the last 19 times that the Sonics faced a team from the Pacific.
