The Maple Leafs have played the over in 3 of their last 4 games. Over their last 5 games the Leafs are allowing an average of 3.60 GPG. The over is a profitable 13-5-2 in their last 20 games following 1 day rest between games. The Penguins have played the over in 4 of their last 6 games. Pittsburgh has a lot of talent on offense and although the offense has struggled look for a big game from them tonight vs. a weak Maple Leafs D. The over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings between the clubs.
Taking OVER!
Good luck!
Neither one of these teams is known for playing a lot of high scoring affairs. However, the current situation certainly indicates that a higher scoring game should be on tap tonight. The Capitals have been playing a much more aggressive style since the coaching change and the results have been proof that the team is responding well. This has been particularly true in back to back wins over Ottawa where Washington had 'goal explosions' in both games. The Capitals offense brings a lot of momentum into this game but their defense and goal tending hasn't been exactly stellar in recent games. The Bruins are coming off a confidence building 5-2 win and they will get their fair share of goals tonight. However, the problem for the Bruins is that their goal tending has been a big issue recently. Washington will take advantage of a Bruins defense that had allowed at least four goals in five straight games before their recent win.
Taking OVER!
Good luck!
The Islanders, who had past few nights off, will be looking to avenge a 3-0 loss suffered at Florida last month. The Panthers, who lost at New Jersey last night, are a money-burning 9-26 (-16.6) the last 35 times that they played the second of back to back games. With the Isles at 7-1 the last eight times they were a host in this series, lets play the home team.
Playing on New York!
Good luck!
Dallas Stars at Minnesota Wild
It’s one thing to lose to a team and the revenge factor is something we pay very little attention to. However, this one has a little bit of a different feel because the last time these two met in Dallas on December 26, the Stars put an 8-3 beat-down on the Wild and we can assure you that game left a foul taste in the mouths of the home side. Now Dallas will play its third game in four nights and the tail end of back-to-backs after getting a dose of reality in Detroit last night. The Stars come into this one losers of two in a row and minus a bunch of key players that include, D Sergei Zubov, C Jussi Jokinen, RW Jere Lehtinen and D Philippe Boucher. Dallas has just one goal in their last two games and they’ll continue to labor miserably on the offensive end. They only have one line that can score anyway, and now teams are really cracking down on that one line. Meanwhile, the Wild are very warm with seven wins in nine games and overall this team is loaded. They can score goals, they play tremendous defense and aside from the Red Wings, they just might be the least flawed team in the league.
Good luck!
