New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes
The Devils are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Hurricanes are 4-6 in their last 10. New Jersey is 14-4 in their last 18 games vs. Eastern Conference opponents. In their last 16 games following a win the Devils are 11-5. Carolina's a hurting team right now and vs. the Devils you need to be 100%. The Hurricanes are 10-27 in their last 37 games following a win. The Devils have won 3 of the last 4 meetings.
Taking New Jersey!
Good luck!
Phoenix Coyotes at Edmonton Oilers
The Coyotes have won five in a row, and thanks to some excellent goaltending, they have allowed three goals or less in 17 of the last 18. Take Phoenix on the road. The Phoenix Coyotes are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NHL, and the last time they faced the Edmonton Oilers in Western Canada, they came away with a 3-0 victory at offs of +200. Now obviously, the odds are much shorter on this visit, but there is a very good reason for that. The Coyotes have won five consecutive games, and their early season acquisition of goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has proven to be a pivotal one, as he has a 2.09 GAA and a .930 save percentage in 22 games for Phoenix. As a result, the Coyotes have remarkably allowed three goals or less in 17 of their last 18 games, and even if we go back to prior to the Bryzgalov trade, that streak is 22 out of 24 games! Phoenix has also been one of the better road clubs in the league, going an excellent 14-8 in enemy territory. On the flip side, the Oilers have done a miserable job of protecting their home ice, as they are under .500 at 10-11-1 inside their own building. Granted, they have won two straight at home, but those wins came against the two New York teams, and Edmonton has not done nearly as well inside the Western Conference.Taking Phoenix (+1.5)!
Good luck!
